Orange Cake
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
3 eggs
⅔ cup orange juice and pulp
½ cup oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 tablespoon baking powder
Directions
- To make a delicious and fluffy orange cake, start by selecting a suitable bowl. Add the eggs, sugar, and vanilla to the bowl. Then, using an electric mixer, beat the mixture on high speed for about 7 minutes until the mixture becomes creamy and fluffy.
- Next, wash the oranges and finely grate the peel. Add the grated orange peel along with the liquid oil to the egg mixture and mix gently. Then, remove the white pith and seeds from the oranges, blend them thoroughly, and add the orange mixture to the cake batter to infuse it with a fresh, natural citrus flavor.
- In this step, beat the egg mixture for about 1 minute to ensure the ingredients are well combined and smooth. Then, mix the flour and baking powder together, and sift the flour mixture twice to incorporate air into the batter, ensuring a lighter and fluffier orange cake.
- In this step, gradually add the flour mixture to the cake batter in three stages. Then, using a spatula, gently mix the ingredients in a circular motion until well combined. After this, preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) to prepare for baking the cake.
- In this step, allow the oven to fully preheat. Then, choose a suitable cake pan and grease the bottom of the pan with cold butter. Next, sprinkle a little flour over the greased surface to ensure the cake easily comes out of the pan. Finally, pour the cake batter into the pan and get ready to bake.
- In this step, tap the cake pan several times firmly on the counter to release any air bubbles inside the batter, ensuring a smooth and even texture. Then, place the pan in the center rack of the oven and bake for 40 minutes, allowing the cake to cook thoroughly.
- After 40 minutes, test the cake by inserting a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the cake is fully baked and ready to be removed from the oven. Allow the cake to cool completely, then transfer it to your desired serving dish.
- For the final touch, sift some powdered sugar over the cake to decorate the surface, giving it a delicate and beautiful finish. Then, slice an orange into thin rings and arrange them on top of the cake. Finally, cut the cake into your desired portions and serve.
